HorseFixer 2,013 #1 Posted April 22, 2017 (edited) Guys this was sent to me by a New Member on here and I don't have or am not familiar with this model. I will direct him to this post once there are some answers to his question. Sounds to me like the PTO could be possibly locked up. ~Thanks Duke Having an issue with the PTO in my 2000 16-38 HXL. The PTO does not disengage when put into the disengage position. The blades continue to operate. The mower starts with the blades running and we cannot get them to disengage. There is no tension on the PTO lever in the disengage position and there is significant tension in the engage position. Thoughts? Thank-you in advance. gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,521 #2 Posted April 23, 2017 Looks like the pto drive is accomplished by drive belt tension - no clutch so to speak. The wire belt guide placement is critical to get the belt to slip on the drive pulley. Garry
