jerrell 1 #1 Posted January 24, 2009 :whistle: the C-175 quit on me yesterday, and i need it desperately, i just installed a new switch and i am sure it is an electrical problem, i have had trouble with this wireing since i bought it, tried to rewire with changing out wires but didn't get into changing all of them. (the engine is a 17 hp kohler, new points, new coil) what in need for now is a simple connection , which wires do i need to make the tractor run ,the swtich has 5 prongs, can someone tell me how to run a wire from the terminals to where ,,,i need to just get the tractor running, i think it has to be just 3 wires, the terminals on the switch are A----, B-----, I------, R-----, S-----, I need the tractor for a couple of days, and can recharge the battery when needed , after this i'll take it to the dealer and let him rewire for me. the only gages it has are the hour meter and an Amp meter, and a light switch goin to take them all off and replace , something has to be causing a short somewhere , all safety swithches were gone when i bought it , :thumbs: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted January 24, 2009 Hook these three wires (terminals) together and it will run: Battery, Rectifier, and Ignition. You can also run a single "hot" wire from the battery to the + post on the coil, but the battery won't charge. Hook it to a toggle switch if you'd like to shut off when you're done. (You'll have to jump it at the solenoid to kick the starter in.) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It is in .pdf format and I cannot figure out how to copy just the one page. Let me know if your interested....pm me. See if the white wire originally went to the ignition switch "R" terminal. If it did, then that's the one you want. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
