stevasaurus 23,279 #15 Posted January 25, 2009 Sorry...I misssed all the car rable...edited before I saw it...didn't mean to start anything. Could post some pictures in the non-tractor related this spring, if you guys want to see it. Terry...you are right about the 502, I completely missed that one...got a HT55C-3088P in her...haven't tried to start it yet...but I pulled the rope and she turns and feels like it has compression. jerrell...you can pick up ground up asphault for next to nothing...spread a couple inches and roll it with a lawn rooler...it hardens because of the old blacktop, and is smooth to walk on...have used it in other spots...3 yards of it cost me $20.00. works great
BPjunk 184 #16 Posted January 26, 2009 Steve, Maybe some time when it does get warmer could post a few pictures of your 502 engine (with out the hood)? Did you find those Wheel Horss with the pin striping or did you do that work? It does set off the lines of the old round hoods. Oh yeah ...... Ya' might point the muffler straight down on the Tecusmeh, it has been found that the air pressure from driving forward will slow the exhaust out of the exhaust port causing the engine to act like it is vapor locking. Back in 1968 Tecumseh changed the design of their muffler to point straight forward (this also kind of burned the paint on Wheel Horse hoods) and found this direct air pressure caused a problem. A deflector held in place with a single screw was added to shoot the exhaust out to the side. Wild Bill in Richmond, Va.

stevasaurus 23,279 #19 Posted January 26, 2009 wild bill...thanks for the tip on the muffler...we will fix pics are for sure, as soon as I can get her out the pin stripping, my dad did when he used them for his lawn bussiness. He stripped everything...I do think it looks good also. He had a gadget that was small, it had a little vial for paint and it had a wheel attached for applying the paint. You just rolled it where you wanted. There is one guy posting on here that wants to paint a wheelhorse pink for his wife. The stripping might be an option. A red horse with the right shade of pink could look pretty and pretty nice. Could keep him from catching alot of grief.
