12 hp Kohler 1,014 #1 Posted March 4, 2017 I have a kohler k301t engine off of a tractor I got a few weeks ago. The engine block has a hole in it so water has been getting in it for years, the engine is a 12hp kohler pull start. I was wondering if I should should get a new engine block, head and piston or should I just find another engine?

PSully 61 #3 Posted March 4, 2017 I wonder if it would be possible to have some kind of patch or plug bronze-welded on your block? How about a picture of the hole?
richmondred01 2,212 #4 Posted March 4, 2017 It's cast iron. I've seen a few flathead v8s back in the day that had some snitch work done on cracks but they never lasted.
