Wheel Horse H55D-2113

Recommended Posts

My boss has an extremely clean 1961 Wheel Horse H55D-2113 with a mower deck, snowblower, and pull behind plow. Everything is or close to like new condition. Starts/runs. Any idea what this unit with the attachments may be worth? We are a Kubota and Bobcat dealer in Des Moines, IA. S/N is 0137658.

Thank You!!!

Have your boss give you a price first...there's a lot of factors that you have to consider ,condition you said "extremely clean" , any missing parts , wrong parts , location (how rare are these in your neck of the woods)  etc.then let's proceed with negotiations . Chime back in his price we'll let you know if he bumped his head  :confusion-seeingstars: or it's a screaming deal :text-woo:and some :text-coolphotos: would really be helpful .

I'm not purchasing it from him. Someone else is trying to and I wanted to help him out. The guy is only offering $1,000 and I get the feeling its worth much more than that to the right person. If not that, it's worth $1,000 just to have in our showroom, really cool little garden tractor. The tractor type is a 551, but, the manufacture tag says Model: H55D-2113 Serial: 0137658. I understand pictures make it much easier to relate to what "extremely clean" means, but at this time I can't upload any, hopefully some to follow. We're talking about a machine in showroom condition, no rust, everything functions, and are original parts/implements you would have purchased with it in 1961. It appears this tractor has barely even seen daylight. I'm just looking for a range from someone more familiar with the Wheel Horse tractors, example $2,500-$3,500, or anything that may help us value the tractor.

The manufacturer "tag" you are reading is the engine ID.

If the tractor is original NOS it is worth more than a restored tractor. If it has been restored and painted, $1000 seems about right BUT with many variables as suggested above.

A NOS 551 could be worth much more. Might also help if you can explain what the attachments are. A CBR=32 sickle bar is worth more than a dozer blade.

:text-yeahthat: Seeing as it would be incredibly unlikely that that machine is NOS, then 1000 is probably a fair offer. If on the off chance it is totally original and not just an older restore, then it could be worth a bit more but you have to understand that over $1k, the number of people interested (or able) to purchase it diminish significantly and it would take a very long time to sell to just "the right person".

Good luck either way, cant wait to see some pictures!
