Saw that Looks like I'll keep things to myself until AFTER I purchase them. ha ha. 2 minutes ago, 6wheeler said: See what I mean? As with refracman, I don't think I have ever left a hunting trip with just the machine I was" After in the first place". But hey? I am a collector of sorts. Mostly collecting things I don't really always need. At the time....... BTW refracman? Nice haul. Mastiffman? Be patient. Another one will come along. Seems like out where you guys are? There are more available than here. Yeah I'm sure there will be. I'll just have to make sure I have a wad saved up next time and head on out instead asking questions. I really didn't realize that C-160 was an automatic and stuff. Good purchase for sure.
AMC RULES 37,211 #27 Posted February 4, 2017 Hey, there's no sour grapes allowed here. Best advise is to recover with the quickness... and just get back into the hunt.

obone 142 #29 Posted February 4, 2017 Yes but it's hard to keep things like this to yourself. That's why I try to get a promise to hold. You were on the fence now you have your answer. Maybe not the one you wanted, but we all learned a little something. Now I want one. Could you give me a heads up? Haha even though it's not what you wanted I'm glad he posted so we know the rest of the story. Plus he gave you a hint.. po's grandpa's a collector is a honey hole. Also also PO wanted to sell as a set.
Duramax7man7 506 #30 Posted February 4, 2017 I wasn't really on the fence. I know I want a Tiller and not just as a toy. I have a half acre that I plan on cultivating into a good sized food source for my family. I appreciate the hint but suspected it anyway... This seller lives in Carleton, MI. and has numerous posts on CL.... For anyone that wants to take a trip out. He seems to have quite a few things for sale. Like I said, I wasn't in the position financially to get the whole kit N caboodle anyhow as any money I put towards this stuff comes from my hobby of breeding Wild Caught African Cichilds (Sick-lids- which are fish from lake Tanganyika in Africa) and I sold off the last of fry (baby fish) a couple of weeks ago and I have to keep food and supplies in stock for shipping nation wide. . But have more growing out. So I will make sure that I'm prepared when I contact the next person... I will have one and a plow by the time I need it. I'm a determined person... P.S. What does PO mean? I now that OP means "Original Poster" and most other forums that I've been on...
pfrederi 18,714 #31 Posted February 4, 2017 PO = previous owner You mentioned you were going to be cutting down some trees to get light for your garden...Tillers do not do well on tree roots.

Ah thanks for the explanation. Yes I do understand that and will be either snagging a ground ripper/ cultivator or making my own to help bust up any roots in the vicinity. But the good thing is that the trees that will be pulled down are more on the edge of the area of interest. Edited February 4, 2017 by Mastiffman

But be aware tree roots grow as far outward from the tree as it is tall some species more some less but in general there's as much under the soil as above,Jeff.
Duramax7man7 506 #34 Posted February 5, 2017 Yes sir! I remember my Dad going over that when I was younger. But Thanks for the reminder! There is quite a low spot and I do plan on leveling that all out so maybe I'll be able to get away with making that area deep enough so as to not have to deal with to many roots. When I installed a fence across the lot back there and dug about 10-12 48" deep post holes, I only ran into roots in the 2-3 holes closest to the large trees. So I'm hoping the maples dig deep for water. Three are 75ft maples with 25"- 30" diameter trunks and the others are a bit smaller. I'd say 12" Trunks and about 40ft. Going to build a front hitch weight rack as well. Maybe something similar to the rear inverted trailer hitch with a threaded bolt through and more of those steel weights from Dunham's Sports. Although I've been wanting to check out "Play it Again Sports" to see if they have any used weights for a good deal. There's one about 10 mins from us.
WVHillbilly520H 10,376 #35 Posted February 5, 2017 If you can find the square/retangular weights with 1/2"-5/8" holes for cable style weight machines would be a good candidate for cheap front weights that wouldn't hang low or interfere with hood opening or find my blue print for my suitcase weight hanger now that you have a welder and the front attac-a-matic uses 5/8" diameter rod, also an extra mower mower mule drive can be converted into a weight bracket,Jeff.
Duramax7man7 506 #36 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Yeah I saw that a couple of months ago in another thread. I think is was my rear ballast thread. I like the look of it! I will definitely look for those rectangular weights for sure. I found another tiller last night and the guy responded today and said "Sorry it's GONE!" but he may be getting another one this week... Man these things are highly desired I guessed. Learned my lesson on asking questions about these... lol Edited February 5, 2017 by Mastiffman
