Adams94 1,069 #1 Posted January 29, 2017 Anybody ever made a block that will hold up a front blade and take the weight off of the cylinder. I was using my mower to haul some wood yesterday but I don't like bouncing it around on that cylinder. Thanks in advance.
Sarge 3,465 #2 Posted January 30, 2017 It really doesn't hurt anything , if nothing else it's not that hard to pull the bottom pin and springs loose to remove the blade from it's frame and take the weight off . I run at least one tractor year 'round with a blade on it , just comes in too handy to move/grade things when needed and that tractor is also called upon to haul yard debris out to the village dump/burn site just outside of town - 1/2 mile away at least and never a problem . As long as the cylinder doesn't leak or the lift valve - it's all fine and designed to handle that bouncing around aside from maybe wearing the rockshaft pin holes out over time ... Adams94 1,069 #3 Posted January 30, 2017 Yea i dont use it much in the winter except for snow, i take the blade off in the summer, just wondered because that 54" blade is pretty heavy hanging out there.
