Team70R 157 #1 Posted January 27, 2017 The starter on one of my H60s engages fine but squeals like crazy! What would cause that?
pfrederi 18,698 #2 Posted January 27, 2017 (edited) In side the recoil unit there is a little tin cup held by a short phillips head screw that covers the engagement dog. This can shift off center over time and rub against the flywheel cup. Edited January 27, 2017 by pfrederi

oldredrider 2,553 #5 Posted January 27, 2017 Probably dry or worn bushings on the shaft. Is there up and down play on the gear end?
