1067 steering wheel center cap

Recommended Posts

damon91

Hello all, I am in the process of fixing up my 1067. It is in great shape and looks to be very original. just needs little things here and there. It is missing the center cap in the steering wheel and I am having trouble finding pictures of what it is supposed to look like. I would appreciate of someone could show me a pic.

Thanks

I believe that's the wrong steering wheel if your going for the original look.

Measure the opening diameter. Then check with Glen. :handgestures-thumbupright:

Here is a picture of the steering wheel and cap on my 1067.  Both are original (my father was the original owner).   I have added the decal in the center of the cap - not sure what decal was on the original cap.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with as you fix things up.  Everything on mine is original except for the steering decal and the seat, which I replaced last year (wanted a high back for comfort).   It is a great machine.  My favorite.  Drives like a feather and mows like new.  Engine and trans work flawlessly - knock on wood.   I've cleaned and tuned the engine, replaced the points and condenser, replaced light bulbs with LED's, replaced all of the belts and brake linking, and repainted it.  Oil, grease, and air filter are maintained regularly.  It has 1300 hours on it and I add an additional 25 to 30 each year.

Oh, one other thing.  I've also added wire cables to the inside of the hood and seat to prevent them from over extending when they are open.  It takes pressure of the hinges.  The old girl just deserved this. :-).

The steering wheel that is currently on your 1067 is the same as the one on my 1977 B-100, 102715. The center cap would be a 102856. They are found quite often on eBay.
