Sal 1 #1 Posted December 30, 2016 I'm having a problem with fuel leakage on a tecumseh/lauson H60. The engine is on a Lawn ranger L-107. When fuel flows from the tank into the carburetor it continues to fill up until it leaks out the air filter. I installed a new needle and seat in the carb and a new bowl gasket. It's a float type carb. The float pivots freely and although the pivot pin is a bit rusty, doesn't interfere with operation. Would anyone have an idea what may be the issue? Terry M-(Moderator) 2,237 #2 Posted December 30, 2016 My "Guess" is your float is out of adjustment....or your needle and seat are defective. When you mentioned "rust", thats not a good thing in any carburetor...especially an H60 Tecumseh carb. I'd recheck things ,and if it were me...I'd replace the carb with a new one. Look on eBay ...I've seen them for $18.00 and up. Also, don't bother with the more expensive O.E.M. ones because IMO , their no better and are also made in China like the cheaper ones. Just my 2 cents.. Terry
pfrederi 18,696 #3 Posted December 30, 2016 Is the float "gas" logged (e.g. filled with gas???)
Sal 1 #4 Posted December 30, 2016 I should have noted that I cleaned the rust off the hinge pin before I put the carburetor back on. I'll check the float to see if it is logged and check the setting of the float to make sure it is acceptable. I have not tried adjusting the needle tab yet.
slammer302 2,156 #5 Posted December 30, 2016 When I was building my 502 Tecumseh powered. I had put two floats in it and both ended up having holes in them. I recommend buying new aftermarket one their cheap!!
