Ny Horse 28 #1 Posted December 4, 2016 Hey guys, I'm brand new to this forum and wanted to start with a question. I can buy a decent model 312 locally for $400 or less, is this a decent price for this Tractor. Looks like it needs a seat and may need a few other things here and there. Thanks!
Walt 339 #2 Posted December 4, 2016 Members with more knowledge than me will chime in shortly but pictures help a lot when trying to determine condition / value.
953 nut 60,270 #3 Posted December 5, 2016 I grew up in Kirkville, just east of Syracuse. Presuming the engine and transmission are in good condition and it has good tires it is a fair price. If it comes with a mower deck or other equipment the deal gets sweeter. As Walt said;

As Walt said; Thanks, Yes it comes with the mower deck and looks like it has Wheel weights on it as well. Looks like it needs some paint here and there and a little routine maintenance.
953 nut 60,270 #6 Posted December 5, 2016 Wheel weights alone generally sell for $ 100 + and a good mower deck will run you $ 150 ore more, Deal is looking better.

The drive belt for the mower should be moved to the larger pulley on the PTO. Are you going to buy both of them.

I asked about the second one and he said that it is a bit bigger but wasn't sure of the model. I would like one with rear pto or at least a 3 point hitch but I'm thinking I might have to go to a larger series. I REALLY want a D series with the front and rear pto and 3 point but they are not easy to find.

chip61 666 #19 Posted December 5, 2016 8 speed would have manual lift. You could possibly find an electric lift for it.

DennisThornton 4,771 #22 Posted December 5, 2016 I think anything that fires up and drives around is worth $2-300. If it has any attachment or accessory then $300+. Condition, age, more HP and attachments beyond a deck push higher still. It is possible to find deals. I just bought this for $150. Yesterday I drove it on the truck, off the truck and mowed my lawn. The weights are why I bought it. Or at least icing on the cake!
