Jerry77 1,218 #1 Posted December 2, 2016 Hey - does anyone know the amps drawn on the two headlights on 516H ?...I put on some led taillights and might be close to drawing the fuse rating .The taillights are 10 diode each, so the draw on them is around 4.5 amp....I know...I know....I overdid it, but they sure are bright..can't imagine anyone on the road running over me because they couldn't see me..anyway, if you know ....tell me...thanks... gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,301 #2 Posted December 2, 2016 The 102881 sealed beam is a number 4411 rated at 35 watts so 35 divided by 12 volts = 2.92 amps each. Garry
BOB ELLISON 2,981 #3 Posted December 2, 2016 (edited) If in doubt add a relay. With a relay you don't have to worry about the key switch or light switch overloading and burning up. I remember on my 1964 chevy impala I added fog lights and connected them to a toggle switch. They worked fine but after a hour or so I started to smell wires burning and smoke from that switch for the fog lights I installed. I didn't know about relays . That was 45 years ago. Now I add a relay to every light I install. Edited December 2, 2016 by BOB ELLISON comments
