wh500special 2,267 #1 Posted January 8, 2009 I know the Briggs equipped C-style tractors (C161, C111, GT2500, GT1100, GT1142, GT1800, GT1848, maybe others that I forget) used a one inch bore pulley on the engine on both hydro and 8-spd tractors. And I assume they all have the bearing on the back side too since Briggs engines don't like side loads. But, Did the B60, B80, C81, C85, and 308 with Kohlers also use a 1" bore, or were they 1.125"? TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #2 Posted January 8, 2009 Yes, the 8 horsepower Kohlers also used a 1" bore pulley, Steve. (This includes the Commando 8 and the 1973 8 4 speed.) The 4" O.D. version is fairly easy to find, but the 5.250" O.D. for the hydros has reached "needle-in-the-haystack" status.
wh500special 2,267 #3 Posted January 8, 2009 Thanks Terry. No kidding about that 5.25 incher being a hen's tooth! I keep seeing the smaller ones (which I need) popping up on eBay but the darn things keep eluding me because of price... Patience will reward! Thanks again, Steve
