36" Tiller

Recommended Posts

I have a Raider 10, 6 speed model1-0360 of 1973 I think. I want to drive a 1975 36" Tiller model 7-1252. Can anyone tell me the size of the long drive belt to suit these items? I would appreciate a reply in inches as I have difficulty sourcing genuine parts in the UK.

I would like to thank any respondents in advance.

Tiller 7-1252 wants drive belt # 1599.  It is either 138 or 139 inches long, according to this website:

139" is correct according to this service bulletin for the 7-1252 tiller

Thanks for the help but the 139" belt that I purchased appears to be 22" too long when fitted. Unless I am routing it incorrectly. I have fitted it passing around the tiller main pulley wheel and the the back of the belt passes over a small jockey wheel. Both sides of the belt then pass to the front of the tractor. I have a double pulley fitted low down under the clutch pulley. I am the passing the new belt around this pulley. The pulley's other drive, (double pulley), has a small belt between it and the clutch. If you can follow this I would like to know if it is routed correctly. Thanks

Do you have the manual for the 7-1252 tiller?

Here is  a pic of the PTO end.  The teller end...Flat side of belt goes under the idler pulley, then fit the V side of belt around the 12" dia pulley.

Thanks for all of the help. I now know the problem lies with my tractor. The lower double pulley should have a jockey wheel, No.17 in the diagram positioned close to it. My tractor only has the double pulley. On close inspection, I can see that my pulley and shaft are not original parts. I was thinking that the drive came from the clutch with a short belt and then the second pulley drive went to the tiller. Now here is the problem. Where can I obtain the correct pulley shaft and brackets to enable me to use the tiller? Has anyone got one to sell or knowledge of a spare parts contact? Help!

Would anyone be prepared to supply dimensions in order that the shaft, bracket and pulleys can be fabricated?
