Jerry77 1,218 #1 Posted November 11, 2016 Where is the best place to buy a solenoid for my Onan P216G....part no. shows as: Part Number: 111674 Thanks guys..
cleat 4,990 #2 Posted November 12, 2016 You could likely get by in this case with a simple lighting relay. Most of those are rated for between 30 and 40 amps. In the case of the Onan, that relay is only used to trigger the solenoid on the starter itself.
953 nut 51,899 #3 Posted November 12, 2016 The solenoid is the same as used on Fords from 1956 to 1980s, any auto parts store will have them.
cleat 4,990 #4 Posted November 12, 2016 That will definitely work. Overkill but then again more is better. I will wire in a Ford solenoid next time one of mine go south.

boomers_influence 106 #7 Posted November 12, 2016 club MOST all of the P 216 used the solenoid shift starter. one at the 3 o clock position, the other at the 6 o clock position. there is one starter with out the attached solenoid, it would be the one able to use the FORD style remote solenoid. thank you. boomer ( the used onan engine parts guy, also NOS and new )
