RJR49 138 #1 Posted November 6, 2016 OK it's not the rock band, it's my C-160. For reasons not clear to me the column supporting the steering wheel is twisted. Probably not more than 5 degrees but enough that the the pin moving the hydro cam slips free leaving me going which ever way I was headed. A quick flick of the key gets things under control but its pretty disconcerting. A homemade pin 1/4" longer is keeping me going but the long term solution is a tear down and rebuild. The C-160 is a pretty simple machine but I would appreciate any hints or tips that those that have gone before me have experienced

refracman 167 #3 Posted November 11, 2016 sounds like either the bolts holding the whole assembly attaching it to the frame have come loose or it is rusted out there. pull your side cover and belt guard to inspect. hopefully just the bolts have come loose but i haven't seen that happen. usually its the belt guard side rusted out from the center section getting filled up with debris. i've seen this happen primarily on tractors with rear discharge decks good luck
