Marv 983 #1 Posted November 6, 2016 I wound up cutting the steering shaft. Thought I would sleeve it when I put it back. Well, the shaft is worn quite badly at the dash bushing area. I have the all plastic wheel . Thinking about Drilling a hole through the wheel in line with the shaft and trying to press the shaft out. Now the question, is the wheel hub hollow above the shaft end or solid? Marvin

Marv 983 #3 Posted November 9, 2016 Thanks Bob. That is what I thought it would look like. Marvin
Retired Wrencher 5,830 #4 Posted November 10, 2016 Marvin I think you may have to press this out? My experience is that they rust solid on the shaft not easy to get off with out a press or heat. Good luck.
Sarge 3,465 #5 Posted November 10, 2016 It can either be pressed out or drilled out - once drilled to about 5/8" a chisel will remove it if you notch the remaining piece with a hacksaw blade - most are only 1/2" tall . Sarge
