Does anyone know what a power broom is worth. Im picking one up for $125 but I haven't seen it yet. The guy says it's ready to use. Just curious what it's worth.

:twocents-02cents:   If you need one it would be a bargain at twice the price;    if you buy it thinking it is a great bargain and have no need for it then is it really a bargain?

I think I paid 350 plus 150 to ship from North Carolina to Long Island for a sweepster C-48 like the one in the picture above. I will say this, they work well for  light snow, removing rocks, acorns, thatch from grass etc. However they do take up quite a bit of room for storage. New bristles are still available and I don't think they are too expensive. So if it's all there and the gear boxes are good 150 is a good deal.

They also are a bear to install /remove.  Mine is permanently married to the C175.. Think I paid about 400 for mine but I had to go get it.

This is the only one I have. He says it's ready to use but I'm not sure. He also has 2 cabs and a snow blower and this power broom all for $500. The one cab is the gray one but I don't think it's complete.

I do not see any mounting frame for the sweeper. it sticks out 3-4 feet behind the broom as it has to engage the front and mid tachmatic.  Are you sure this is for a Wheel horse???

I'm sure it is. I think it may be the angle of the picture but I can't get pictures until tomorrow.

I guess I will have him send me more pictures tomorrow. If it's not complete and useable I don't want it. I'm just buying it because it's cheap.

I would ask him what model horse he had it mounted on  (He may have never actually mounted it).

I would want to know if it has some kind of lift to raise an lower the broom.  Mine has a linear electric you can see in the picture.  I do not see any support casters on the sides...they are very useful..  is the angle adjustable that would be a big plus mine is not.

Non adjustable angle no casters and maybe no lifting mechanism I wouldn't be interested.  If it was a sure fit  for a WH some one might give 150 for it...max but not me.

Paul,

I don't pretend to know anything about these sweepers, but your setup is pretty friggin' impressive to me.

What chores do you specifically use it for???

One hell of a rig, there!

Still worth $150 IMO if you are handy.

This was made from a walk behind sweeper to fit a WH tractor. I used it for a couple of years and then sold it for $450

I have a few hundred feet of frontage on a dirt road and a couple hundred feet of gravel driveway.  The sweeper is used to get all the rocks and stones out of the yard and back into the road/driveway every spring... after the town and I spent the winter plowing them out of the road/driveway onto the yard.  Beats the heck out of raking.  Mine doesn't have a changeable angle so the project may be spread over 2-3 days waiting for the wind direction to be correct..  You think a facefull of snow from the snow blower is bad try pebbles grass and twigs in your face.

As i said they are a beast to hook up and remove so this is a permanent setup.  Also Sweepster recommends a minimum of 15 hp.  They are heavy and when raised make you machine very nose heavy thus the chains and wheel weights ( I also have 50lbs more on the drawbar.
