jepruis 0 #1 Posted January 6, 2009 This is a really great site just to read up on my tractor. I have a,new to me, GT-18 Workhorse automatic with a 36" snowblower and I think a 48" deck. Heavy wet snow isn't a problem with a Horse apparently. Thanks for all the help already guys. Jeff :hide:

WHC-125 4 #7 Posted January 6, 2009 Wish I had 50" You would need a crow bar to pry me off my trractor 1 Because I would love to plow all of that 2 Because I would probably be frozen to the seat :hide:

jerrell 1 #17 Posted January 7, 2009 :hide: welcome jeff, as you will see on this site , you will get a lot of good info, i have a GT 1800, that i rescued from a PO that was going to throw away, put a 20hp honda propane engine on it and completely stripped it and painted and now in the process of putting it togeher, have it about 80 percent done, it raining and freezing here in arkansas and i have an open shop so not doing to much on it right now, but you will enjoy that tracctor, great power and i love that auto, easy to use, not much snow down here but use mine as a bull dozer, works great... :D
jepruis 0 #19 Posted January 8, 2009 O.k. thats my first attempt for pictures. There they are. I live about 35 miles north of Grand Rapids at the end of about 2.5 miles of corn feilds to the west and guess which way the wind comes from and then hits my driveway and unloads all the white stuff in my driveway. Tractor is working it's butt off, and mine to.
Duff 206 #20 Posted January 8, 2009 Good job on the pictures! Looks like a good, solid machine. Nothing like a 'Horse to move all that snow! :horseplay: Keep us posted! Duff :D
Teddy da Bear 11 #21 Posted January 8, 2009 Is that front tire a little low?? And did they wipe out the GT-18?? on both side? You can find the build tag on the dash tower and go to the toro site and it will tell you exactly what you have.
TT-(Moderator) 1,162 #22 Posted January 8, 2009 The "build tag" is actually the rectangular sticker just under the "TWIN" decal visible in the last photo. Apparently Wheel Horse used some type of disappearing ink to print the numbers because unless they were kept away from sunlight their entire life, they are virtually illegible by now. A few years later (1988-ish) the sticker was moved under the edge of the seat on most models - perhaps in hope that they could still be read for a few more years. They were also treated to a clear overlay decal that offered a bit more protection than uncovered ink. The nice thing about the WORK HORSE models having B & S engines is that the "CODE" number found on them is actually the build date for that particular engine. (YY/DD/MM/??) With a little bit of deductive reasoning, the approximate year of tractor manufacture can be determined by the engine code number. Of course, if the engine is not the original, this pretty much kicks this ability out the window! :hide:
