Cadmandu 67 #1 Posted October 30, 2016 Hi All, After removing and cleaning my carb it now backfires when I shut it off, does not start easy either and stumbles a bit. I have the main and low idle both set at the preliminary settings. Preliminary Settings Main 1 1/8 now it was 1 1/4 Low Idle 1 3/4 it was 2 TIA Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

N3PUY 1,031 #4 Posted October 30, 2016 When you turn the ignition switch off the motor continues to suck fuel. Just as if it was still running. Without spark the fuel passes thru the motor out the exhaust unburned. The muffler is hot and there the fuel ignites. Mine has done it for ever. When I shut it off I cover my ears especially in the shed. It even shoots a flame a few inches out the muffler. You can try slowing down the idle.
