workhorse gt-1642 id tag

wheres is the metal id tag on a work horse gt-1642. i found a sticker one on side of dash not readable. the c125 i tore down had 2 id tags a sticker one by seat and a metal one under dash

I dont think they had a metal tag. My GT 1142 had a paper laminated tag on the lower dash tower on the right side. 1983.

You can see it right above the PTO black handle.

thats where this ones paper one is at. i would really like to know year going by engine is impossible because its long gone.

I would think that engine numbers would get you close. I think they only made them for 3 or 4 years. 81,82,83,84?

heres my 1642 i stuck a 12hp kohler shaker on it from a c125 that was rotted to no end

I looked on Tractor Data and they list them being made 82,83,84.

82-84, and no metal tags. I currently have my 84 GT-1800 that I bought brand new down to the frame in the restoration process. Maybe Glenn or someone here is making new tags? If they are I would love to purchase one. What color is the gray you are using?

Here is mine completed. I put a 14 Kohler on it. Almost complete, but done now.

well i scrapped original engine to this machine earlier this year had no tins on it and no pulley it was locked up. i couldnt even find the engine plate (this machine was at a local mower junkyard). if i could of found engine plate oh god the possibilities it could of had a 22 hp briggs on it (special way of turning a vertical shaft briggs to horizontal and i know how lol)

I used a Ford Fleet color I picked out my friends book at his body shop/garage. Silver. I didnt go with a gray. Its not original so I brightened it up some.

i think when i redo my gt1642 work horse i am either going to do it in a red and black or just do something custom and make it a dark horse and do it all black not sure yet. but i know i got to do a couple patch panels next year due to rust
