suburban 400 Tranny seals

Are there replacement seals for input shaft? Anybody have any #'s? or suppliers. (I don't want to take them out if non replaceable). Also the guy selling axle seals on Greed-bay for 19.00 a piece. Does this sound right? BTW my tranny is the cast center plate sides one. Thanks in advance.

Never done one of the old style trans, but I bet they are just a generic seal - get the OD, ID and Width and go to NAPA.

I don't have one apart right now, but the input seal and brake shaft seal can be matched up at most auto part and bearing supply stores. The only place I have found the axle seals is the dealer as they install over the axle tube and not inside as most seals. The $19 sounds a little high but it has been at least a year since I had to buy any. Mike

I have the same problem with a 8 speed that I want to use in a puller project I started do you have to pull apart the tranny to do the seals or can you replace them with out disassembling it ?
