question on Ag tires

Will the 23/10.5/12 ag tires interfere with the WH 418A hydro cooling fan? Or are there any other problems I should know before I order tires?

Each brand of tire is a somewhat different size. It will hit the gas tank/seat support frame first.  I ran chains on 9.50s without issue.  on my 418A.

not sure how much difference there is between a 520h and a 418a but I have a set of deestone 23/10.5x12 ags on my 520 and they don't rub on anything

That is what I was shooting for. I was thinking tri ribs up front for snow blowing. Is there much difference between the tri rib and the chevron tires both performance and price? I mainly use my tractor for snow blowing and some lawn mowing. Might be more if my maintenance guy retires then it will be mowing somer and blowing winter.

10.5's will work, but to use them without ballooning too much you will need to get wheels from a 1991 or later 520H, 1988-1989 520HC, or a 418C (there may be one I am missing), These all have 8.5" wide rims where as most other wheel horse's have 7.5" rims.

As I said different brands are diffet in sizing.  Both of these a  23 x 10.50 x12

Deestones (small) Carlisle (bigger)

If you do not have a paved driveway  turfs and chains are better than ags.  especially  for snowblowing.  If you have to back up AGs do not do well and if you have to raise the blower taking weight of the back they are even worse.

I did not know that about the different rim width on the 520's, I must have gotten lucky my 1988 520h came with the 8.5 in wide rims.

Well with that I think I will stick with the turf tires with chains and front turfs with bicycle chains. I use my WH throughout the winter for snow redistribution. Our city has strict rules for business and sidewalk maintenance.  Thank you all for the input.

Brandon, add the 1990 520-H and 1990 520-8 with 8.5" rims, and the 5xi series 8.5" rims. Also it is a 7.0" rim.

Thank you! Ahh yes, of course i totally forgot the XI's. Though you likely wont find a pair of those just laying around yet.

I was always wondering about actual width of the narrow ones, I had never had a smaller set apart to measure, just quoted what I had seen. :handgestures-thumbupright:
