Achto 26,573 #1 Posted October 15, 2016 I picked up another tractor today. Trying to decide if I should part out, save for a custom project, or if it is what I think it is (1045) restore. If I ignore the decals it looks to be a 1045. It could also be just something thrown together. I'm looking for opinions from this educated group. What do you guys think it is?
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,503 #2 Posted October 15, 2016 If the serial number is 62-2385x with the last digit not readable it is a 1963 serial number. Garry

But maybe with a right angle gear box....and..... 1 hour ago, 953 nut said: MUTT! but a very nice one; Save it! I agree with Mutt. I guess I was wishing for a 1045 more than thinking 1045. What can I say one can hope for a great deal / find, right? The more I look at it I'm thinking 653 with different front sheet metal, maybe different frame. I noticed no parking brake, front hood mount like my 867 and only 3 bolt hubs. Well I might have an idea for a custom job, will not reveal till I get a start on it though. Some thing short & fat I'm thinking.

WHX?? 46,809 #10 Posted October 16, 2016 Nice Dan...Def a mutt but the fenders & tranny I'm sure were worth the price. Given your fab skills and the looks your other rat rod gets...I'm thinking another HF powered rat? Maybe a repulley for some ski speed!? ?!? Since I'm watching the Pack and sucking a cold one paint in green & gold!!!

PeacemakerJack 10,671 #19 Posted October 24, 2016 Dan, the right engine and that would make a fun show machine. Especially at the big WH shows---almost a WHAT IF??? I don't know what you'll do but I can't wait to see!

On the bottom left is an 8 1/2hp Wisconsin/Robin diesel that needs a home, I'm kinda kicking around trying to install it in the mutt. I might have to alter a lil sheet metal to get it done. If I can't make it fit then I guess I can grab some thing else off the shelf.

Achto 26,573 #23 Posted November 10, 2016 Yep! I dumped my whole garage into the driveway and started over. After organizing I think I can get a few more things in there. In fact I filled one hole with an HD bagger that needs some top end work. Should mean more $ for me.
