Good day to all.   I recently purchased a 79 c81 with mowing deck that is all original and operates very well. A week after I bought that one another gentleman had offered me a 78 c101 for very cheap that runs and operates, also came with the mowing deck snowblower a plow and a tiller . Also had a b80 for parts he threw in for free. My C-81 is in much better shape but I'm wondering if the 10 from the 101 will fit on my c81 with minimal modifications. Or will the 8 horse on the c81 do just fine running the tiller and snowblower. I'm worried that it won't have the power and torque the 10 would.  Any feedback is appreciated.                  Thanks  ,

The 10 would fit in the C-81,but my recommendation would be to keep them both and use the C-81 as a primary mower in the summer and possibly a snow plow in the winter.

The extra HP of the C=101 would be better for tilling and as a back up mower in the summer and for snow blowing in the winter.   The tillers are not the easiest implement to install and remove.

IMO, it is best to have a tractor for every implement.    These 30-50 year old tractors are very dependable, but it is best to have a back up tractor for every task...especially snow removal.

:WRS:  Snow blowing is one of those operations where more power is a GOOOOOOD Thing!  Ed chimed in while I was typing, all good advice.     :wwp:

Backup for most applications is nice.Tilling the garden can wait if the tractor has an issue as well as mowing the yard. With that said

when it comes time to blow snow you can't wait.I have the blower mounted to the 416h right now and an extra blower flag on the 416-8.As Ed says these tractors are dependable but I like redundancy when it comes to some tasks.Luck,JAinVA

I agree with the other members.  Fix 'em all up and use them for different chores or backups.
