Shuboxlover 480 #1 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) I am fairly certain I picked up a complete 701 this morning...I'll post pics tomorrow. What are the differences between the 701 and 702... Edited October 10, 2016 by Shuboxlover
Sparky-(Admin) 23,122 #2 Posted October 8, 2016 A 701 should have no slots in the grill, the double pulley starter/gen setup if the motor is original, the foot rests are unique...kinda shaped like the sole of a shoe. I'm not sure about this one but I think the aluminum fuel tank is one piece unlike the 702's and newer models....but like I said, not sure about that one. Mike....

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,599 #4 Posted October 8, 2016 Mike is right, the 701 had no slots in the grille, and the footrests were the same as the 401 and 551. Also, it didn't have the shield covering the brake stuff, I think a 702 did, but I could be wrong.
Chris G 3,352 #5 Posted October 9, 2016 702 should have a one piece aluminum tank and a cover on the brakes components. At least the ones I've had have. But the solid hood front for sure would be 701 as well as the shoe sole looking foot rest.
Shuboxlover 480 #6 Posted October 9, 2016 Here are some pics of it. It was ABSOLUTELY FILTHY!!! Must have been 30 years of dust on it. I gave it a bath and it looks much better. The first things I'll do is get rid of the horns, antenna, extra battery, and radio cassette player. Then I'll see if I can get it running. Needs tires to say the least. So is it a 701?
Chris G 3,352 #7 Posted October 9, 2016 Nice looking machine. All those extras on that make it seem like it was a daily driver for someone. But it cleaned up nice! By the way, yes it is a 701

RedRanger 1,469 #12 Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) Interesting! Never seen a radio on a Horse. Where are the speakers? What is the rebar thingy hanging on the front? The owner that modded this tractor must have been a REAL character. I bet you could retire with all the copper on that thing!
