Question about wheel horse B 100 not starting

Recommended Posts

vmen84

I have a question about my wheelhorse B 100 I went to start up today so I could mow the yard at first it Turned over but it wouldn't start up. I  let it set because I thought it was flooded I came back tried starting it up again and it wouldn't turn over at all so I took the key out and I'm letting it set for now because I'm not sure what the problem is. I previously had a problem with the float fix that it worked find about two weeks ago when I last mowed the yard. I should probably mention when I started up a last time it sounded like not the thud but it was not turning over smoothly if that makes sense and now it won't start. I also have seafoam as it was suggested last time

Check the sparkplug for spark, make sure fuel pump is working. Check the points. Make sure the gap between them is clean. You need good contact.

I hate to suggest this, but with what you are saying, you might as well check it out.  You may have a broken piston rod.  When you pull out the spark plug (if the engine does not crank) take off the drive belt.  Look down in the hole and turn the engine pulley, you should see the piston move up and down...if you see it not moving, you broke the rod.  :(

If I recall correctly you were having fuel related problems a month or so back; what has been done to correct this? If it is flooding too much you may be "hydraulicing" the cylinder (so much non-compressible fluid in the cylinder that the piston can't make a full cycle). Check your spark plug to see if it is wet and smells like gas. Also, if this is the case you need to change the oil because some of that gas will leak past the rings and dilute the oil.

On a K241, you can't see the piston from the spark plug hole.

I tapped the tank to try and clear up the  needle and after that it ran fine I also got seafoam  my farther law also did something to the cylinder that I belive has something to do with the ignition it looks like a little bitty vile as far as today's issue I'll do it as you have suggested my only problem is that I have to wait for my father-in-law because I'm not good with mechanical stuff one way or another I'll get it fixed
