What year is my new 416-8 ??

i traded my c175h for a 416-8 (kohler single 'k') series plus cash (he paid me). the 416 has the led lights on the dash. this dash looks a lot like my 417-8 with the led lights. that one is a 1986. anyone know what year/s it could be? thanks-

Is it the Magnum 16? I did some snooping and if so its either a 1987 or 1988. The 1989 and up 416's had Onan twins.

I have an 85 with a K series...I was thinking that was the first year for the 416 "not 100%"

the model number is warn off. i do not know how to do pics... wish is did, would like to post some of my tractors. the motor is a k series, not a mag. the dash looks just like my 1986 417-8. it has led lights.

Steve, I see two models with the K series engines:

1985 model # 31-16K801 has a K341S-71371 engine

1986 model # 31-16K802 has a K341S-71381 engine

You should be able to look at your engine numbers to determine what year it is. Let us know what you have.

Steve sent me a PM, but just for the record: The indicator lights were added in 1986 which is what year his tractor is. This is an easy way to tell certain '85/'86 models apart if the tags are illegible. Both would be K series Kohlers. '87 ushered in the Magnum engine line and in 1989 the 416 went to the Onan twin after the 516 was dropped for its one year showing in 1988.
