T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,589 #1 Posted September 11, 2016 Runs good, and has been repainted by the previous owner. It's not perfect, but still pretty good. I sold the tiller a while back. The lights all work and it now has the tailight on it.

ACman 7,630 #3 Posted September 11, 2016 There's only two green and yellow tractors I'd own . A 1963-110 , and the big ole 6030 AG tractor . That was even hard for me to admit !

Ken B 3,173 #5 Posted September 12, 2016 (edited) Very nice, I fully restored this one a while back. The reason I owned a Deere is I watched the movie the Straight Story and then I had to have one. Fun little tractor for sure and a great movie... Edited September 12, 2016 by Ken B
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,589 #6 Posted September 12, 2016 The one in the movie was also a 1966 110. I have owned a few RF JDs, and 3 of them were 1966s. They have that look about them that when you see one, you want one. Deere put a lot of thought into making this tractor and they done their research. Here is an interesting video. http://www.deere.com/en_US/media/player/player.html?src=/jdonline/john_deere_lawnmower_50th .m4v&autostart=true

Wishin4a416 2,191 #11 Posted September 14, 2016 Nice machine! My local JD dealer has one totally restored sitting on his showroom floor. Those ole round fenders are sharp.
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,589 #12 Posted September 14, 2016 Here is another interesting video where former employees who worked on the 110 design discussed those early days leading up to the 1963 John Deere 110.
wh500special 2,256 #13 Posted September 16, 2016 That's a nice looking tractor. The local JD dealer here in O'Fallon has one that looks like that mounted on the top of their signpost. Eye catching for sure. There is a lot to like about the 110's. It's funny to think that it took Deere so long to get into the GT business, but when they finally did they did it well. The only 110 I ever had was a '68 orange and white custom color (patio). I liked it a lot and it made me a pretty decent profit when I sold it. Deere really did well evolving their tractors over the years and keeping them fresh and modern. Quality products for sure. Take care of it. Steve

Take care of it. Steve Thanks, Steve. I bought it from a guy from Arkansas. He met me half way, at the Arkansas-Missouri border on Hwy 67. The only thing it needed really was a throttle cable, which I did. I also added the tail-light. He had it, but it wasn't mounted. I got most of the manuals with it and an extra set of 6-12 ag tires on narrow rims, which is what's on it today. I violated the type code somewhat by mounting those, and I also added new narrow tires on narrow rims for the front. If you knew JD's type codes, then you know type codes are based on model, and tire and wheel sizes and types, i.e. turf, ag, etc. It's probably the best running 110RF I've owned, and I owned a few. I did have a nice running '65 110, but it needed transmission work. This one is fine. The headlight mounts are correct, but not the head lights themselves, and they're not mounted to the hood like JD recommended. Why put holes in perfectly good hood anyways?
