Sounds like a 520-8. It would have to be in good working condition for me to consider spending $1000 but i'm kinda a cheap skate. But it is worth looking at you never know what price you may get him down sum if you decide you can't live with out it. Good luck!

Oh boy Glenn. Decisions, Decisions. You know the 60 inch decks bring good money if in good condition. I dont know what year the tall chute snowblowers started if he bought it with the tractor and it sounds like a 90 correct? First year for the 520 badged Wheelhorse/Toro. 88 and 89 were still labeled only wheelhorse I think. If a 90 it would have the swept axle but not gear reduction steering. Your gonna have to take a look. Might be a clean one or not.

Let's assume that everything is in very good condition with minimal rust. Chances are it has plastic covered concrete wheel weights, value $65.00, chains $35.00, single stage snow thrower, $150.00, and 60" deck $500.00. That totals $750.00 leaving $250.00 for a low hours, fairly rare 520-8 speed. I'd say that's not a bad deal. If you check eBay you will see a 60" deck that recently sold for $750.00. Just my 2 cent worth.

Agree with Bob.

While I will probably never buy anything with "Toro" on it (got a thing about Wheel Horse and Toro in the same sentence), it sounds like this tractor is in serious need of investigation.

It's a one owner low hour 520-8speed Glenn, and you know Wheel Horses about as good as anyone here.

Need I say more? :D

Post some pics after you pick it up tomorrow.

Nobody on this board is going to SELL a 520-8 with that equipment for $1000.  200-ish of them were made.  "Bucket List" tractor for a lot of guys.

Buy it.

Don't plan on lifting that 60" deck off the ground with the manual lift though.  Heavy suckers.

Just keep it covered for a few days when you get it home and you can always fib about the price to the Mrs . She can't make you live in the dog house for ever. Send lots of pictures.

If only I could see it. I hope today I can, but it's not mint, that was my first 520, that was clean. This one was worked by the owner, lawn cutting and snowthrower for the driveway. Me and the owner have been having trouble with our timing. They are moving on Sept. 30th. So they have been very busy on their end. But I think today will be the day.

BTW:  let's not forget today, Sept. 11th. A tragic day for our country. Pray for the lost souls.
