russellmc301 600 #1 Posted September 7, 2016 well i got my rebuilt kits for my carb today and i seen my head gasket was bad so i need a new one of those. my dad said the points have white corrosion on them so it would be good to get new points. so i figured it im going to fix the head gasket and points might as well find out what other gaskets i need to rebuild it. i heard there isn't a K-91 "rebuildkit" for sale but i could still get all the gaskets seperate. so what gaskets do i need to rebuild my engine? Wildhorse 303 #2 Posted September 8, 2016 I would just take a piece of 400grit sandpaper and run it between points before buying new, it doesn't take much to clean them just check gap after. As far as gaskets go I wouldn't replace any that aren't bad unless your tearing down motor completely. Head gasket is easy just make sure you clean well and torque head bolts to proper ft/lb and in correct sequence. Just my and what I would do if motor is running good. If it isn't broke don't fix it is what I was always told.
