That is one nice score . For the price you paid you sure got a deal and think it is something else to play with and your wife approved the purchase.Double score.

I think you did great. That bracket looks like it's for a tiller. Maybe he's got the tiller? The idler pulley mounts on the upside down J thingy. :)

You did great.  The cast iron wheel weights can bring good money, so that's a bonus.

Your right Bob. I found the bill of sale in the manuals. He bought it With a tiller and a snow plow. The owner said I have everything he found. He did say the snow plow was sold separately so I bet the Tiller was also.

I wonder if the guy who bought the tiller is still :confusion-scratchheadblue: trying to figure out how to mount it. :D

Those rear weights appear to be JD starter weights. If they are they're worth half what you paid for the tractor! Very good deal I would say. Congratulations!

Nice find Jack. As for your tranny leak try some Lucas trans leak STOP.  I have used this for years now with good results Try it before you need to tear it down. It also shifts better. Just my:twocents-02cents: Good luck with the project.

Good suggestion!   I like Lucas products. The transmission leak stop works very well in many cases.

I think I figured it out when I had the seat pan off for power washing. Some of the case bolts were not as tight as they should be.

Keep an eye on it as you use it. ON older models when you can not get the hubs off that is when I use Lucas. Good luck

Mine was the same way Jack, tightened the bolts and switched to Mobil 1 syn. 10w-30 and all is well. Too bad a the tiller isn't with it
