Horse Number 5 (C-120)

Just picked up my fifth Wheel Horse today.  Got a 1974 C-120 automatic.  Pretty good haul.  Got mower deck, snow blower, 2 piece cultivator set, and a brinly disk plow with it.  It has the 3 piece seat which is in pretty good condition for the age.  Too dark out for pics right now.  Should get some up here tomorrow.  Tried to get it started but has no spark.  I believe it has the wrong spark plug in it though also.  I checked and from what I can find the k301 kohler engine should use a RH10C spark plug if using Champion brand.  Please correct me if I am wrong as I would like to get the proper plug in it.

Went at the c120 first thing this morning.  New proper plug and set the points to proper gap as it was way out.  Got spark now just will not fire up yet.  Time to tear into the carb and give it a good cleaning.

Got the carb cleaned up and it fired right up and purrs like a kitten.  It had not ran in five years according to previous owner.  Here are a couple of pics of it as well.  Rough looking but runs solid and transmission is smooth.

Had a powered bagger at one time based on that belt guard.

I was wondering about the belt guard....seemed a little different to me.  There is also a pulley near the back on the same side that is connected to the frame.  It can be seen when seat/fender pan is open.  Possibly from a tiller?

A tiller was the first thing that came to my mind. Something like the 7-1211. In 1974 the tillers used the one belt setup that went under the tractor eliminating the extended belt guard but it could be likely that someone mounted the older unit on it. I used a 7-1211 on my 76 but utilized the later single belt drive. It was much simpler to mount than the 2 belt drive. :)
