Saw this on CL this AM .... I tryed to zoom in on it but can't quite make out the  model...... A-26 sound right??

The guy said he was going to scrap it if no one would give him 25 for it by 10 today. Called but no answer or call back and post has since been removed so missed another one.

Call the nearest scrap yard to that ad  . You know he didn't get $25 for it there . The scrap yard near me use to charge 10% over scrap weight . Now they got smart and opened a "you pick a part" for autos , lawnmowers , boats , RV , atv , and some heavy equipment .

@WHX7 Jim, that was a R-26. 2nd generation of RER for Wheel Horse.

If you find one... they fit nicely inside a 4 wheeled wagon for storage. (this one was mine about 4 years ago)

Did you mean REO Jason?? They are kinda cool, nice conversation piece and maybe doin a quck cut for a small piece of the yard, haulin veggies from the garden.... Would have been nice to get one for 25 bucks! I gotta quit getting so worked up about these missed scores! What years were they made?

I think those were about 69-72 or so... I'd have to dig to find out for sure, and well... I'm just not that motivated right now.   Dig away if you feel like it... I think the model number was 2-2651 on mine.

 

And yes, Craig was right... I did mean RER for Rear Engine Rider.... REO by Wheel Horse was the name they used. After they bought REO, they wanted to maintain some of that loyal customer base, so for several years they made some of the same products under both names.... Wheel Horse.... and REO by Wheel Horse....  This was the RER's, the push mowers and the walk behind snow throwers..

Looking at my records the Reo was listed in 1968 there are other rear engine machines listed but not called Reo I have one myself but there are no levers by the front of the seat as seen in other photos and no electric start but it is called Wheel Horse Reo Skiff nice machine

I have a tiller steer Reo RR-46 with non-pneumatic front tires. I bought it from a dealer about 10 years ago, it was N.O.S.! I've only seen one other in my 32 years of owning Wheel Horses. It now has maybe 2 hours of running time on it !!!

That I believe is a RR-66. Rear engine Rider,6hp,1966. So my wife helped me post that picture, once I figure out how to post from my phone directly to RS I will post many more pictures of my Wheel Horse collection. This time we did it through her iPad.
