Bearing noise ?

Several years ago I bicycled thru Missouri in May.  We had to listen these things for miles on end and for at least 3 days.  At first they sounded like a string trimmer.  The intensity increased from there and it became like a circular saw.  When we crossed the Mississippi into Illinois it stopped and there were dead bugs crunching under our tires.  Didn't miss those suckers at all :-)

So...maybe a bad bearing in a 312H sounds like a bunch of cicadas???  Ed, we need a video with a sound track so we can help other members.  :)

Must have been the 7 year locust you experienced. Those things drive us crazy in Iowa as well.    :disgust:

Here ya go Steve.

There is a seven year and a seventeen year locust Doug.       And when their life cycles fall on the same year the numbers are enormous.
