Being a pretty accomplished model builder I have thought seriously about pantographing the parts from my RJ down to say 1/8th or 1/12th scale as I go through the restoration and fabbing up a model out of soldered brass and cast white metal.

Any interest out there in some of these? It is a lot of work to hand make one of these, but I would have molds of the engine, tranny and wheels. I can make jigs for the frame pieces and forms for the sheet metal to produce several copies. The hard part (for me) would be correct tires in a soft rubber.

I don't have access to an 854 to pantograph down. The 854 also would have a lot more sheet metal work and a lot more castings, so it would cost quiet a bit more to produce.

If you can do it and make it into a kit. I think alot of people on this site would be interested. I love to build models. Oh Yea some sort of instructions would be cool too. let me know if you do do this i'll buy one.

rwilson... there already is a model kit if you're interested. It was originally part of an Indy car kit, but reproductions are available. Original kits show up on ebay from time to time. Please see this topic.
