Spark plug boot terminal

Here's what my M12 has on it now, it's missing the boot and after closer inspection the guy who had it did not cut back and fold under the core when he did his poor crimp job, all I see is a hollow hole in the coil wire. It runs well with a occasional miss and I'm thinking I'm loosing some fire. Do these coil wires have the solid wire or the graphite cores? I've seen some older wires with a nail type spring terminal that pushed into the wire, not sure if this type is correct. I've got some slack to play with

Well, it has a solid core. The terminal he used had a spur that was not even in the wire but folded back, had super glue holding it in place. I cut back about 1/4" of exposed core, folded it under and re crimped it, now gotta find a boot around here. Seems to run much better

For those who have graphite wires . A mouse chewed my sparkplug wire off even with the shroud. The only way to get at it would be to remove the engine. My way around this was to take sewing needle and sharpen the eye end and push it in the cut off wire and the sharp end in a new piece of wire . I slipped a boot over the joint  . This repair has been working for about 8 yrs.

Great tip to keep a mower going! 8 years proves it works for sure.
