Spark plugs

I have a 518 Xi .How many ft. lbs  of torque should the plugs be tightened to ?

I just pulled the service manual.  18-22 ft lbs (for Kohlers which is what you have I think). Kawasaki is 18 ft lbs

Thanks Doc . It just seemed high to me . Scary when tightening in an aluminum head .  It's been years since I put in a helicoil  .      ED

It seems high to me too, I can't bring myself to tighten that much...skeers me

Trust the engineers that designed the engine. Looking in the Kohler K-Series manual, all Kohlers from the K91 in 1960 up to the K341 have a torque rating of 18-22 ft. lbs. Don't let it skeer ya. It is better to torque it to specs than to have it come loose and blow out.
