cpic1 0 #1 Posted August 2, 2016 Hi I just got a C-111 and I can't figure out how to put the plow on.Not even sure it is the right one.Can somebody help?
scotty 252 #2 Posted August 2, 2016 (edited) Do you have a picture? You need a rear axle bracket for the rear pin to latch into. Edited August 2, 2016 by scotty
cpic1 0 #3 Posted August 2, 2016 let me go take a pic now
cpic1 0 #4 Posted August 2, 2016 There goes some pictures hopefully you can help me out
scotty 252 #5 Posted August 2, 2016 The bracket that is in the 2nd picture needs to be bolted to the transmission. Like in this picture. Do you have the piece i circled? There should be 2 of them.
cpic1 0 #6 Posted August 2, 2016 yes I do have the bolts. In the last picture do you see how it is hitting the brake and the lever to angel the plow is underneath the foot panel on the first pic
scotty 252 #7 Posted August 2, 2016 If the plow is all lined up in the first pic i would have to guess you have a short frame plow. Does the plow have a model tag on it? If it does i believe there's an attachment interchangeability list on here somewhere. I found this how to on here this explains with pictures better than i can without my plow being on haha
cpic1 0 #8 Posted August 2, 2016 It is a 42" plow and it doesn't have any numbers.
scotty 252 #9 Posted August 2, 2016 It will be the same way to hook it up as the 48'' plow. The angle lever is supposed to be in front of the foot board.
cpic1 0 #10 Posted August 2, 2016 That's what I thought. I did see that they made an extender which would probably take care of the lever problem. I just don't understand how I could bolt it up to the rear axle when the frame of the plow hits the brake
scotty 252 #11 Posted August 2, 2016 I would try mounting the rear axle hitch on and see if it still hits the brake band. Sometimes things dont line up quite right until things are solidy mounted. The axle hitch can unlatch out of the plow so you can can hang the rear hitch on the tranny.
cpic1 0 #12 Posted August 2, 2016 Okay I'll take the bracket off the plow and attach it to the tranny. Hopefully you are right and things will line up better. Thank you
KC9KAS 4,744 #13 Posted August 2, 2016 @cpic1 I had the same problem with a plow on a B-80...hitting the brake and, I ended up cutting out some of the frame to clear the brake band, Not the best fix.... Take a look at this tread....It may help you determine if you need a different plow frame.
squonk 43,939 #14 Posted August 3, 2016 From what little I can see that's a short frame plow. You need a long frame
cpic1 0 #15 Posted August 3, 2016 does anyone know the actual length of the shot or long plow frame?
daveoman1966 3,841 #16 Posted August 3, 2016 (edited) I'm WITH squonk.....sure looks like a SHORT FRAME Dozer Blade and you need a LONG FRAME to fit the C-111. Here are a couple pics to help. Note the difference in the shape of the frames....Short Frame is mostly triangular and the Long Frame is also triangular, but the last 20" (or so) is RECTANGULAR.. cpic1 0 #17 Posted August 3, 2016 Hi would you happen to know the length on each of those
stevasaurus 23,298 #18 Posted August 4, 2016 (edited) You have the short frame plow...59 1/2" measured from the blade to the far end. Long frame is 67 1/2" measured the same way. There are a couple of different kind of brackets also that attach to the transmission. You may need the other one...not sure which one you have there...but I would guess that the one you have goes with that snow blade. If you did not have the running boards, you might be able to get it mounted, but you would not be able to angle the blade...the blade would hit the front tires before it notched in place. The longer frame plow would move the lever forward also for angling the blade and would miss your running boards. You may have to turn the handle around though...that is explained in the manual. I think we have pictures of the different attachments for the axles...maybe in the Reference implements section. stevasaurus 23,298 #19 Posted August 4, 2016 In your 2nd picture..the bracket. That is the right bracket for the long frame snow blade...because the locks are on the inside of the channel of the frame. If you try to mount that bracket on a short frame tractor, the bracket will interfere with the brake drum on the side of your trans. The right bracket for that snow blade would catch the blade frame on the outside of the frame and thus stick out far enough to not mess with the brake drum. The long frame horses are usually 8 speeds and the brake drum comes out on the cluster gear shaft...which is closer toward the front of the trans...thus the bracket can be on the inside of the blade frame and not hit the brake drum. In short...you have the right bracket, and the wrong snow blade.. Sell yours and buy the right one...should be close to the same money.
squonk 43,939 #20 Posted August 4, 2016 As a side note, if your angle lever hits your running board , pull the board off and mount one of those stirrup foot rests off an older tractor. They slide right on and you don't fill the bottom of your running board with salt. I did this on a 73 12
