RedHorse54 578 #1 Posted July 15, 2016 hey all, I need some help with a problem I have with my RJ35 belt guard. When I got the tractor, the veri drive would hit the belt guard when I drove it. So I bent the belt guard up alittle so the veri drive would not hit. But now the belt guard won't even screw on. How do I get this to fit correctly where the veri drive won't hit the belt guard while I'm driving it? Thanks

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,534 #3 Posted July 15, 2016 I have one that has an extra piece of flatstock on the back that allows you to adjust the back. I may be able to get pics tomorrow for you. The other issue you may have is the adjustment looks all the way out on the rod. Lastly, the belts may be the wrong size.

buckrancher 2,694 #5 Posted July 15, 2016 first thing are you using the correct belts for the rear pulley diameter the front belt should be a 1/2" x 20" the back depends on the pulley diameter as rj 35's came with 7",6" or 61/2" pulleys 6" 1/2" x35" belt 6 1/2" 1/2" x36" 7" 1/2" x37" brian
RedHorse54 578 #6 Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the help everyone. I finally got everything to work and fit right by tinkering today. I had some NOS rj belts laying around that I put on. And I also put the spring In the 3rd hole to the bottom where the spring attaches to the back. After adjusting, everything works and fits correctly! 4 hours ago, buckrancher said: first thing are you using the correct belts for the rear pulley diameter the front belt should be a 1/2" x 20" the back depends on the pulley diameter as rj 35's came with 7",6" or 61/2" pulleys 6" 1/2" x35" belt 6 1/2" 1/2" x36" 7" 1/2" x37" brian Thanks Brian, this info really helped Edited July 15, 2016 by RedHorse54
