A few pictures and an objective evaluation of the strong and week points would be helpful, A 1974 B-80 could be worth $50 or $500!

Even if someone offered me 500 for mine I'd say just keep walking! Lets say you get the cash from the sale to even buy a brand new one then what? Would that really be worth it? Mine are as old as I am and likely will be around long enough to have to be pulled out from my cold dead hands. Can many new tractors say that... just saying

I'm sure there must be a few members who purchased their tractor new.

Guys, the original poster is asking on what his B-80 sold for when new in 1974, not what it's value is today.

To answer the original question, here you go.  A price list for 1974:

It appears a 1974 B-80 was $965 new, I'm assuming without deck.

Yes. I was wondering what it sold for new in 1974. A guy on Facebook posted a list from 1977. It was around $1345. On the inflation calculator that's about $6500 today. So yes they are worth restoring. What would you give for a brand new wheel horse today.

Sorry T-MO. Didn't see the bottom of your post. $965 without deck. So $1345 would be a good guess.
