RJR49 129 #1 Posted June 24, 2016 I have a C-160 with a 42" snowblower. Not a big fan of the cable arrangement to turn the chute but my bigger problem is that when the snow piles up my short chute is blowing snow into the snowbank. I'm wondering if retrofitting a tall chute would be feasible or help. I have the ability to fabricate or create any parts necessary. Any thoughts or advise would be appreciated
WNYPCRepair 1,923 #2 Posted June 24, 2016 I took a tall chute assembly off a beat up blower and put it on a good short chute. Works great. I just took everything from the base to the top of the chute and transferred it over
Thisguyisnew 114 #3 Posted June 24, 2016 (edited) I was planning on modifying mine but have limited fabricating equipment. I hope not to have same problem if I can't. I am a newbie with the one I just got and don't know what I might run up against. And cable system does leave a lot to be desired. JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,498 #4 Posted June 24, 2016 My first snowthrower was the cable short chute. Keep the cable taught, the snowthrower worked fine. But the refinements of the tall chute gear driven, well, I guess why there called refinements. But that short chute sure beat the Dickens out of the snow shovel. Plus, there are variations of different cables to try. Glenn
