Uncle Buck 246 #1 Posted June 20, 2016 I bought a 1976 B-100 8 speed and got two mower decks. The first was a 36" rear discharge that came with the mower originally. The second deck is a newer deck and is a side discharge. Judging from a visual comparison I do not think the side discharge deck will work in place of the rear discharge. First the two decks mechanically did not look similar comparing one to the other. Second my B-100 is a 1976, the newer side discharge deck was made to fit a B, but a much newer B. See below please. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. NOTE: The WH number on the side discharge deck was 1328 searching that number here gleaned a manual and these notes on the mower deck. Lane Ranger 11,439 #2 Posted June 20, 2016 They should both fit and work on your B-100 with no problems. We need pictures to determine if you have a B series vertical deck? There were some B series Wheel Horse tractors that had vertical operated motors and thus they needed vertical operated attachments designed for their pulley systems. Pictures posted can help us determine what you have Uncle Buck !
Racinbob 11,984 #3 Posted June 20, 2016 The 05-42SB01 is for the later B-Series when they became lawn tractors in 1978. Your 1976 will take the same decks as the C, 300, 400 and 500 series.

Uncle Buck 246 #5 Posted June 20, 2016 So this side discharge deck will not work then correct? To answer your first question LR the engine is a horizontal, it has a mule drive twisting the drive belt sideways and running it horizontal above the deck driven by a horizontal drive pulley. I am assuming though based on what RB said that this deck will not work then. Dang, I hate RD WH decks. I love my horses, but hate the RD decks. Seriously none of mine are very impressive at cutting grass of any serious height. I want a SD. Thanks guys
