TALK ABOUT DUMB!

:hide: OK-I've been plowing snow with this tractor 2 years now, you would think I would know what I'm doing-BUT-I have never plowed the kind of snow-freezing slush that we got recently. The Horse had no problem pushing it as high as I wanted , but there was driver ERROR! I always lift the blade right at the end of pushing regular snow, just to lift it into a hill. So, dumb me, I tried that with this freezing slush stuff (very heavy)-Guess what-I pulled part # 22 right apart! Hydraulics really have power. SO- I went down to ACE hardware and got a new eyelet and a coupler to hook the chain on. Then I MIG welded the eyelet shut. All this in 20 degree weather. I made sure I blocked the blade in the full up position, then put the lift arm in the full up position also, then hooked everything up. Works good! Now to fix the DRIVER ERROR-A couple of Hot Toddies in front of the BIG screen ought to do the trick!-Thanks - AL

I have never seen that particular arrangement.

Mine has a lift rod and not an eyebolt......

And it is that way on at least 3 of my tractors.

:hide: Hey Mike-Your set up gives you down force too, right? At first I thought I would change this, but it gives me "FLOAT" on my blade to follow rough contours better. The WH Hyd. valve doesn't have a "Float" on it. Or, at least mine doesn't. -Thanks-AL

Mike, my 312-8's have the chain and eyebolt like Al's for the mower deck, although for my midmount grader blade I do have a solid lift link a PO fabbed. Just my 2 cents.... :D

:D Mike-Thanks for the reply-if I break this setup again, you can bet I'll be making a rod like yours-I didn't even know they existed-I have only seen the flat stock arms for down force-Live and learn.-AL :hide:

You can make it Al, but they might be still available for purchase.

Even my 1054A has that setup. (GT-14's, B-80 & B-100 & the Super C)

Al

In my opinion you didnt do anything stupid. My 310-8 has the same set up as yours other then the hydro lift. With out the flout on your hydro lever something has to give. A enexpensive eye bolt and a little work sounds alot better then what could have happend.

Good luck with your new repair,

P.J.

Part 7-49 is still available, as I had to buy one a few months ago. There should be enough threads on either side of the Trunion to put a nut and washer, so it cannot slide up/down. At least there is on mine,
