nhmikel 14 #1 Posted June 12, 2016 Picked up this today, block, crank, & head. Supposedly came from 1965 cadet. No I'd plates, maybe able to find some casting nos, etc later. Bore measured 3.250". Is this block same as ones used in WH's?
rmaynard 16,342 #2 Posted June 12, 2016 Hard to tell only from that view, but the first thing I notice is that it is missing one of the holes for mounting the PTO hardware. How about taking some more pics at various angles.
nhmikel 14 #3 Posted June 13, 2016 Will this thing work in my 1056? Or just to bare and keep for parts?
rmaynard 16,342 #4 Posted June 13, 2016 Like I said, with only one picture from one view, it's hard to tell. My initial thought is to use it for parts. There are too many necessary parts missing, and you don't know the condition of the internals.
nhmikel 14 #5 Posted June 14, 2016 Will this fit a WH? Look at bottom pan
Shynon 7,482 #6 Posted June 14, 2016 That's a small pan block, you need a large base oil pan block for your 1056
nhmikel 14 #7 Posted June 14, 2016 Anyone use a steel plate under another make (cud or JD) to make it work in WH?
Shynon 7,482 #8 Posted June 14, 2016 You can use it. Need to plug the oil drain hole and re tap one out the back. I think it needs to be raised 1 1/2". Also must be a cast iron oil pan I don't think I would use an aluminum one.
