Hodge71 665 #1 Posted June 8, 2016 So what I do know is its a 42" rear discharge. It came on a 1979 C-81 I got from my neighbor. What I don't know is what year? Is it possibly a 1979? The 1979 manual doesn't show that form of height adjustment. No id tag, original paint. Height adjustment like I've never seen before on a horsey. I know its definitely a WH deck the problem is I need to know the year and number so I can download a manual and parts list. Its been a rough 3 weeks on horses here. I have 2 42"RD and a 48 SD and every one of them is broken. I bent the shel on the 48 cutting with the GT-14. Its pretty well useless until I get time to heat and beat and rebuild the entire thing. One 42" RD succumbed to a very large metal stake in the ground that bent the center spindle, shaft, deck shell and blade. That left the lowly unknown 42RD in the picture that spun the bearing in the center deck spindle and possibly wiped the shaft out. Needless to say I need to spend some serious cash to get everything back up and running once I get part numbers
elcamino/wheelhorse 9,362 #2 Posted June 8, 2016 Looks like the lever for the height adjustment is missing.
daveoman1966 3,841 #3 Posted June 8, 2016 Me thinks your deck model is 05-42XR01 (up thru -05) and the spindle shafts are probably those that use a keyway slot in the spindle shaft / pulley. I have replacement spindles for your deck, as well as the missing height adj lever and spring mentioned earlier. Even if you spindles do NOT use the keyway, I have that style too. for further details, send me an OFF-FORUM email. my email is: daveoman@windstream.net

Its for 1980 B series tractors. Definitely not the pulley arrangement mine has, and the deck hangar linkage is definitely for a C-series. I haven't taken it apart and doubt I will be able tonight but I'm more confused now
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,512 #6 Posted June 8, 2016 Try searching the files for "42MR01" "42MR02" and "42mr03" in quotation marks. With so many parts lists shared between models many of the illustrations don't match the actual model number. If you can find an original IPL it may be correct. The TIPL's are a problem. These come from Toro online. Garry

Its basically the same as my 1974 42"RD except for the height adjustment gauge.I wonder why they went with such a complicated set of plates and levers when the old system worked just fine? Now to get prices on parts

You didn't upset me at all El Camino. I need the deck height adjustment handle and assorted hardware, spring that goes with it and Im sure spindle bearings once I get into the center spindle. Plus bearing and shaft for my other 42 RD center pulley, not to mention deck anti- scalp rollers, wheels and god only knows what else for my 48 from the GT-14...Its gonna be expensive.
