Wheelhorse84 87 #1 Posted June 6, 2016 So I recently picked up a super clean 310-8 with no hour meter. It runs really well and does not seem to lack power. It had an oil leak so I cleaned the engine and found that its coming from the governor shaft. So I checked the breather and its fine, the plug did not have any oil on it, what should the compression be if I check it to see if the rings are worn? It smokes for a split second when you go from low to high idle then stops smoking completely. Also has anyone just had a worn bushing that has caused this. I just want to explorer the simple things before I move on. Are the bushings easy to replace? Please give me any and all ideas. Thank you.

Seems there was a thread not too long ago on the "governor shaft bushing replacement". Do a search on here.
Wheelhorse84 87 #3 Posted June 6, 2016 Only because people have made mention of that probably being the issue if the breather is unclogged. I will search for that bushing thread. Thank you.
