1974-75 B-100 Automatic

The transmission drive belts for these are 7478 which is the same as for the long frame C-Series models.

I thought the B-100 was a medium frame length tractor. Is it possible they use the same belt? The frame part numbers are different.

Interesting. The 74-75 B's are 43.5", the C's are 45.5". I was thinking maybe the pulleys were sized different.....nope, same part numbers. Checked the belt guard, same number. :confusion-confused:

Is it possible that the extra length in the frame was in front of the motor? That would make the spacing between the motor and transmission the same. I'm thinking that's gotta be it.

OK guys, get your tape measure out. :)

That is what I was thinking.

I would measure mine, but it is 30 miles away at my step-daughter's garage.

Don't let that stop you. Go measure it. :P

Check this out. The lower steering shaft on the B is # 104886. On the C it's 104889. Something tells me the C shaft is 2" longer. :)

This might help, look at the engine bolt wholes.

The frame, steering shaft, and hood are the only shorter parts, the rest is like the C

That explains it. The muffler appears to have a shorter elbow/pipe than the 1977 C-Series which would place the muffler closer to the engine. In 1975 the muffler for the B and C-Series was the same.
