CasualObserver 3,411 #6 Posted June 3, 2016 Bob, when I saw the title, that's what I thought of too! but you could have used a redish one! I found this one back in 2008 when someone asked about a c-130! Isn't it ironic that the two images are at exactly the same tilt? Must be the good side? 43 minutes ago, dusthudg said: Is a c130 a unicorn of wheelhorse? Yes... the C-series were numbered based on the horsepower... there were no 13HP engines used. If you're seeing it in an ad, it's most likely a mis-key for a C-160.
Don1977 605 #7 Posted June 3, 2016 More then likely it's a C-120. The 3 key is closer to the 2. I have a C-120/180 with a 18 HP Briggs Vanguard. If it's C-130 it's been modified.
rmaynard 16,301 #8 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) The mind plays tricks on you at times. It's just like when I am typing buckrancher's real name, I will invariably type Brain instead of Brian...but really, I guess that's not wrong after all. elcamino/wheelhorse 9,362 #15 Posted June 4, 2016 I was a crew chief on a Huey from 1970 to 1976 in Army Reserves . We learn three things , pray that the Jesus nut on mast stayed on, hope the pilots returning from Nam left weed at home on training days and summer camp and last pray I did not get called up , being a door gunner is not as much fun as it looks. This is way off topic. Smack self in head.
mels 174 #16 Posted June 4, 2016 67T UH-60A Blackhawk Crew chief and gunner '82-'88 We didn't have problems with the 'Nut back then, though in '84-'85 we lost a couple to the elastromeric bearing in the spindles separating and slinging a spar (blade) off in flight. Not a pretty sight, going from 4 to 3. As for jumping, if you've never rappelled out of a UH-60 man you haven't lived.
