k241 running temp

Recommended Posts

I have a 1056 with a k241 on it and after a short spell of running the engine seems to be hotter than it should. I am going to pull the cover and make sure the fins are clean and clear. Do these engines usually run hot?

It all depends on your definition of hot. If the muffler is glowing you may be running too lean. I don't know if anyone has actually checked the temperature of a normally running K-241, but I may pull my B-100 out today and put the infrared thermometer on it in various places to check.

It could just be my imagination I still have some tinkering with the carb to do so it could be lean...
